ABSTRACT

The Florida Section of the American Water Works Association Water Utility Counsel (FSAWWA WUC) is recognized as the authoritative resource for knowledge, information and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of drinking water. Its mission is to develop action programs to initiate, evaluate, respond, and comment on legislative, regulatory and other matters directly affecting water utilities in Florida. During this workshop, two members of the FSAWWA WUC leadership team will give a brief overview of the State’s legislative process, discuss the State’s 2021 legislative session as well as current federal legislation with potential impacts to water. In addition, the speakers will discuss current state and federal regulatory efforts, including the FDEP’s potable reuse rulemaking and the USEPA’s lead copper rule revisions.
