Average water use in the State of Florida is projected to increase from approximately 6 billion gallons per day (bgd) in 2013 to about 7 bgd in 2030; with an estimated supply shortfall of 1.3 bgd. Florida’s reuse is expected to produce 18% or approximately 233 mgd toward reduction of that deficit (FDEP). These projections illustrate the State’s need to creatively expand Florida’s water drop through resource diversity and public awareness, that water is water.

This webcast will look at three separate alternative water supply projects that provide water resource solutions, for Florida. These alternatives include applications in reuse technology that range from the integration of stormwater into the reuse supply, the development of ultra pure water for potable supply, and aquifer augmentation for both environmental recovery and water supply. The webcast will discuss the value of these resource alternatives to utilities, including water resource diversity, water supply and environmental sustainability.
