On September 12, 2013, the South Florida Water Management District (District) Governing Board adopted the Lower East Coast Water Supply Plan Update. The District is offering technical assistance to local governments in updating their Water Supply Facilities Work Plan (Work Plan). As you may be aware, local governments are required to adopt updated Work Plans generally within 18 months of Governing Board Approval. The Work Plan planning period is a minimum of 10 years with the updated Work Plans to be adopted by March 2015.

To assist in updating your Work Plan the District has placed a checklist and informational documents on our website (www.sfwmd.gov/work_plan_support). The checklist has been attached for your convenience. To date the District will be presenting information regarding Work Plan updates at two venues:

• Joint Miami-Dade and Broward      Counties’ Planners Technical Committees on Friday, November 15,      starting at 1:30 PM, at the South Florida Regional Planning Council in      Hollywood, FL. • A workshop at South Florida      Water Management District Headquarters on Wednesday, December 4 from 9      AM to 11 AM in West Palm Beach, FL. See attached agenda for location      map.
